Review: Lúcido-L Creamy Milk Hair Color in Café Chiffon

Hi everyone ~

This summer, I have been really into dying my hair and changing it up a bit. The last time I dyed my hair was 2 months ago with the Palty hair dye in Bitter Cappuccino, and I have been noticing my natural hair making its appearance at my roots, so I thought it was time to dye it again ^_^.

Product name: Creamy Milk Hair Color
Brand: Lúcido-L
Colour: Café Chiffon
Price: $11.99 at my local Asian supermarket
Rating: 3/5

Isn't the packaging so nice? ^_^ Asian products always suck me in for their packaging...

Before and during the process: What attracted me from this product was the lovely packaging and the fairly decent price. Since I am Asian and I have really dark hair naturally, I have always stuck to Asian hair dyes because I feel like they might do the job better for my hair.
One thing that made me question whether I should buy it or not was the colour information at the back of the box, because it showed almost the same colour result for light, medium, and dark hair. So, I thought this product would be quite deceiving.

When I first applied the product, I did feel a little bit of burning and irritation on my scalp, but it did not last for long. I concentrated the product on my roots at first, and then worked my way down to the tips. It said to leave it on for 15 to 25 minutes, but I left it for 30 minutes. Similarly to the Palty hair dye, I did notice it had a strong scent to it, which was caused by the ammonia. So, I just wore my nose clip, haha.

The colour looks the same for light, medium, and dark hair @_@ or maybe I am colourblind LOL

A few minutes after the process: I was starting to see a brown colour on my roots, which I did not see when I used my Palty hair dye, but the rest of my hair looked black. I did feel like my hair is a little bit dry, but it did not bother me that much.

The next day: Unlike the Palty hair dye, the smell of ammonia still remained in my hair, which somewhat bothered me, but I could not notice the dryness anymore. My hair also looked very unnatural, like an orangey colour with red reflections. I was not satisfied at all, and quite disappointed honestly.

After a week: My hair looked better because the colour has faded, and it looked more natural. However, I still feel like it is too light for my taste, but I could not blame it on the product, because that is the colour that was shown.

Here is my hair colour under natural lighting 3 weeks after dying :) Sorry for the frizziness; I was not having a good hair day :\

Overall review: This product was better than I expected because it was not drying and the colour did not fade that much after the first week. I also think that it is a great product for its price, and I would recommend it to people who want a fairly natural colour, kinda close to black hair but a little bit lighter (it does look like medium brown under the sun). However, I took off 2 points because of the smell of ammonia that stayed on for way too long for me and the fact that the colour was so unnatural in the beginning.
I do not think I will repurchase this colour again, but I may purchase another one, because it is fairly cheap. However, I feel like I would stick with the Palty hair dye in Bitter Cappuccino for now, because that's the colour that really compliments my skin tone :\ ...
